Currently the world economy is on a downfall. The impact of economic recession is gradually increasing and the unemployment rate is continuously growing around the world. As the members of Finance Network, we have created Voluntary Career Consultant Program to help our members who have lost their jobs and searching for new careers.

We have created our program based on similar successful programs throughout the world that have influenced our methods and strategies.  Similar to our previous projects; we are proud to lead and benefit our community in this field.

Our mission in this program is to help students, recent college graduates, members who have below two years of job experience in their fields, and members who have lost their jobs due to the economic recession.  We assist our members with their resumes, job applications, job interviews and careers. We will support our qualified members and transfer our knowledge to them in related fields.

The project will first be launched in the United States and will cover finance and economy fields. Similar projects may be launched in other countries or continents based on the outcome of this project

How will the Voluntary Career Consultant Program work?

1. The first stage of the program will start with 10 students and 10 consultants. The program will continue throughout the year.
2. The program coordinator Emre Erdogan and Gamze Yucel will be receiving the applications.
3. The mentors will then be matched with mentees where they will each learn about their backgrounds.
4. There will be a peer review with our volunteers to make sure we reach our goals successfully.
5. Both parties will contact each other on their own time about the provided fields.
6. We will contact both mentors and mentees to follow up on the success of the program. We will make arrangements and switch mentors/mentees if necessary.

How will our program benefit mentees?
The mentor and mentee programs will last between 3-6 months. The students who join the program will receive help on the following topics:
-Information based on the expectations of professional career.
-How to create a resume and write a cover letter.
-The important aspects of job interviews.
-The requirements to work in a finance field.

How will our program benefit our mentors?
Our mentors will benefit from the following:
-This program will help our mentors refresh and build their knowledge on finance sector.
- The members that are ready for the job market will be prepared for the difficult situations they may be facing within their career paths. This will strengthen their abilities to over come similar situations in the future.
- They will have a chance to make positive changes in their professional lives. By helping the Turkish community, we believe they will receive leadership position in the future.

How to apply for the program?
To apply as a Mentee please do the following:
1. Please let us know you are applying as a mentee to the program in your email.

These are the questions for the students (Mentees):
- Submit a short essay stating your academic background such as your university, classes you have taken and your hobbies.
In order to help us have an idea of who you are, please answer the questions below.  This will give our program coordinator an idea about your professional background. If you fail to answer the questions due to lack of provide experience, we will be more than happy to share our knowledge with you.
- What made you interested in working in the finance area? (Please give realistic answers and be creative)
- What part of finance fields are you interested in? (Examples: accounting, marketing, analyst) Please answer this question in details that will help us match you with the right mentor.

How to apply as a Mentor:
1. Please let us know you are applying as a MENTOR to the program in your email. For the mentoring position you must have at least 2 years of experience within in the job field.
2. Please let us know if you have volunteered for career consulting in the past.
